A Day at the View

Going to school in Vermont is always tough for a city-born, upstate-moved teenager. With friends left behind and relationships torn us teens need times just to appreciate mother natures natural beauty. Luckily, a beautiful view awaits me everyday right across the street from my university. My fellow classmates call this place
"The View" ironically. No...Not a show FOR! middle aged women, BY! Middle aged(some a little older)women,
who talk about how Matthew McConaughey ran across
Miami Beach with his shirt off! (-___-). It's just "The View". Some students drink there......away from campus. And some smoke.....away from campus. Most
importantly I go to the view to view the wonders of our
world we sometimes overpass in life. Today was a day to take photos and reminisce. Enjoy.......(Christopher Colas).

The Feed

First off, here is La Roux and Kanye's song "In for the Kill" It was only a matter of time before these two collaborated.

Here is a mislabeled video, but still its really interesting, its, get this, a hip-hop harmonica.

This song is titled "One Hundred Yard Dash" by Raphael Saadiq. It is really old school, and the video has a great film noir look to it.

This last song is "Ain't no Doubt About It" by the Game featuring Justin Timberlake and Pharrell. I had this song for a while, and I just remembered to share it with you.

One More Thing....

Don't forget to comment! This blog is here to give you the latest and greatest in music, fashion and life. Its always great to get some feedback from our readers!

Dont Look Down

Here's Kanye's latest release, "Dont Look Down" with Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco, and Big Sean. I really enjoy this track, and I'm surprised that Mos, with his gravelly voice can sing. Also, Big Sean's been on fire lately, hes really improved. Forget Kid Cudi, Big Sean is G.O.O.D Music's answer to Drake.

The Show MUST!!! Go On

Lupe Fiaco!!!! Finally he releases the first single off of his highly anticipated third album entitled Lasers. "The show goes on" is sick. The high pitched sample he uses and the chorus is deffinately head-bumping worthy. I bet anything Lupe Fiasco was going to put out would have deffinately been a hit simply because......He's LUPE FIASCO...either way....Enjoy............(Christopher Colas).

PIIQ your interest

Move over Dr. Dre and Skullcandy, Sony has finally made something that is cool AND reasonably priced. They have recently unveiled their new PIIQ headphone line, which consists of colorful, stylish, high quality headphones. Now these are by no means a direct threat to the Beats by DR. Dre, but they do have better sound quality than Skullcandies. Definitely check these out if you want a stylish set of headphones, but you aren't willing to pay $200 dollars. I mean c'mon! its a recession people! The Piiq line starts at $14.99 up to $99.99

"Need You"

I thought this song was kind of cool, except for the fact that Travie McCoy's attire is extremely weird. In other words..........it's not my thing. But...........Enjoy..................(Christopher Colas).

To Afrika

Recently I got the chance to go see Fela The broadway Musical. It was amazing!!!

Stage use?! Not a problem. The entire space was filled with vibrant colors and amazing dancers. Before the the play actually started the music was overwhelming, but a good overwhelming. The beating of the drums made everyone dance in their seats, snap their fingers softly and tap their toes, while holding a conversation with the people they came with.

The play itself was colorful and meaningful all in one: A mixture of Emotions!
Although I briefly told you all about the play I encourage you all to see the play or do research on Fela. You will not be bored in any way, whether you're watching the play or learning about the man.

G.O.O.D Magic

I found this song by Kanye, one that is possibly on his new album, its called Magic Man. Honestly, it took me some time to listen to it fully, cuz I wasn't too into the beat, but lyrically the song is amazing. Malik Yusef drops a very poetic, and unorthodox verse, and of course Kanye and Common deliver while John Legend handles the vocals, overall.....its G.O.O.D music.

Christian Music?

I go to church! Shouldn't be a surprise but hey this band I've grown up watching perform at almost every teen event, best known as The N Result is doing some big things right now. They have performed in many venues in the U.S. Their complete album is already on Itunes! The only thing I am waiting for is some new singles.
Who would have thought, disciples of christ making it big making music, but not put in a category of "christian music". Hmm God is Good.

Well the newest and Latest video is out there! Check them out and download their music!

The N Result: A blend of rock and hip hop in one.

Aero-Dynamic duo

They are the most recognized name in techno, dance club staples, and probably one of the most renowned artists worldwide. But the funny thing is........few have ever seen their faces since they were younger. They are Daft Punk. "One More Time", "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger", "Aerodynamic"......chances are you've probably heard these songs, repeatedly.
Who are these masked men, these phantoms of the turntable? They are Frenchmen, by the name of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, and Thomas Bangalter. They met in Highschool, where they began making demo tapes. Surprisingly, the duo started off in a rock and roll band. A reviewer remarked that their music was "a bunch of daft (the British way of saying insane, crazy, or mad) punk." The name stuck, and Daft Punk moved on to pour their talents into a different genre of music, the (at the time) new rave/techno genre that was gaining popularity in Europe. They started using autotune to an obscene degree, before T-Pain, and they succeeded in creating masterpieces. By their second album, Discovery, these musical Frankensteins created songs that have become icons, and made the duo the leading name in their craft.
Oh, Did I mention their masks......I WANT ONE!!!! They are insane. Their updated masks light up, make faces, and the LED's even pulsate to the music.
Look for Daft Punk in the upcoming movie, Tron Legacy, they made the soundtrack and appear in the film. I also recommend the album Discovery, its their finest work. Ill leave you with this, the Louis Vuitton mix. My fellow Backpack Boys Leon and Chris described this as 16 minutes of bliss.....im inclined to agree.

Speaking in Tongues

just doing some internet surfing and i came across this, pretty funny because i would of never expected justin beiber to be this well... hate to say it but, good. he definitely tears it up like a tractor lol

"G.O.O.D. Cypher"

This amazing display of talent was displayed at the BET awards a couple nights ago..all i have to say is CYHI DA PRYNCE!!!! (amazing verse) and Big Sean... Well I wasn't surprised. He did his thing. Enjoy........(Christopher Colas).

West Coast Today

The west coast style of rap has come a long way, from gangbangin' and dickies to chillin' and skinnies. Two upcoming rap groups from LA are Pacific Division (Pac Div) and Get Busy Committee (GBC). Although GBC may have a more "gangsta" feel to their rap, they both have the similar "West Coast" and chill feel to their rap. Here's Knuckleheadz by Pac Div and Chillin' Out Maxin by GBC.... (Leon)

Ko ni chi wa B****es

Let me first start off by saying that CRS is officially back! If you dont know who that is, it is the rap dream team of Pharrell, Kanye and Lupe. The only thing that would be better would be if they added Common.....but we cant always get what we want, now can we. Moving on! Have you heard of the Teriyaki Boyz? Probably not, they were featured in the movie Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift, but besides that, they're a lot more popular in Japan. Thats not to say that they havent produced a few tracks with American artists though. The Teriyaki Boyz are a Japanese rap group, they rap in english, I just wish they would do it more often, still, their beats are pretty good, and they often feature guest rappers, such as Busta Rhymes, Kanye, Pharrell, and they even have a song with Chris Brown. Dont write them off as copy cats, these dudes mean business! It is also interesting to know that one of their members, Nigo, the DJ, is also the founder of A Bathing Ape clothing brand. Here are a couple of their best songs, "Zonk On" ft Busta Rhymes and Pharrell and "Teriyaking" ft Big Sean and Kanye. Look for their albums Beef or Chicken, Serious Japanese, and Delicious Japanese.

"Dedication"

Hows that for dedication?

Freeboarding?

Skateboarding and longboarding are cool, but freeboarding is crazy. One of our friends who longboards showed us this fairly new and upcoming sport. What sets this apart from other forms of skating is the fact that it has 6 wheels. In addition, one must lean in the direction opposite to the one desired, in order to turn. Basically it's snowboarding on pavement. Check it out, it's pretty sick...(Leon)

"Wallabape Boots"

Here's a sick Wallabee boot by Bape. It's part of their new collection. Check out the website it's sick....I really enjoy their jackets..anyway.....Enjoy.......(Christopher Colas)

" Photo Obscura "

During one of my boring but, yet insightful college courses here in Vermont, I found myself astounded bye this "Photo Obscura" subject. An image with light is projected through a hole on another surface in a contained space to view.LOOK carefully at the top image!!! A model of the process is below. Enjoy............(Christopher Colas)

Wake up

I heard this song in H&M recently, it's a remake of an old song called Wake Up, originally sung by Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. John Legend and Melanie Fiona's vocals breathe new life into the song, and Common.......well he just kills it (in a good way).

Good Wood

Plant a tree get a watch???? Uhhm yeah that sounds right(I think). As we all know trees bring us valuable things like paper, houses, music instruments, pencils (ugh reminds me of school), and oxygen. but who would of ever thought you can get a watch, earrings, necklaces, or even sunglasses made out of wood. It has been made possible thanks to W Shock, Shwood sunglasses, and Good Wood. I guess the next question would be that if you invested in these are you saving trees or destroying them(Adrian).

The Air Max Chronicles

The Nike Air Max has been around since 1987, that's 23 years of stylish running shoes. Over the years, Nike has continued to reinvent the Air Max, and ultimately this has made the Air Max a style icon. Available in countless colors and iterations, the Air Max is always a trendy and comfortable choice.
It all started with this, the Nike Air Max 1.

Some of the most popular evolutions have been, the 95's,

97's,

and the more recent 2010's

They're all really great sneakers, but what if you were to combine them? What if Nike pulled a has-been pop star move and released a "greatest hits" sneaker, one that combined the best design ideas of its three best selling Air Max's? Well, they have, and here it is, the Nike Air Max 24-7

With the sole of a 2010, silhouette of the 97, and the design of a 95, the 24-7 is almost flawless. I personally own a pair, I had been looking to buy a pair of Air Max's, but the 95's sole looks awkward to me, the 97's color schemes are hit or miss, and the 2010 lacks the style of its predecessors. But with the 24-7 you cant go wrong.
Yet it all comes at a price, a legit pair can go for anything from 90-165 dollars, but they're worth it. The 24-7 might be my first shoe to get an encore purchase
